The day before his visit to Germany Yushenko stated that Ukraine’s integration to the European community is the main aim of the government.
“Integration with Europe is the aim for the sake of which people gathered at Maydan during the Orange revolution in Kyiv. They strived for the common European family. They had the objective similar to the one of Germans who brought the Berlin wall down in 1989: to release their country from slavery. That’s why we try o pursue a policy with moral background, We are perhaps the last generation of politicians who can unite Europe. Europe is deficient without Ukraine. We are not the neighbors of Europe, we are the part of it, we are Europe” – the President claimed in the interview for the German newspaper “Welt”.
Viktor Yushenko marked that he understands all the difficulties of this process but they can’t be the reason of delaying the issue.

“Five millions of Ukrainian reside abroad nowadays, The former regime is to blame for it. It was impossible for those people to find a deserved earning and a perspective for future in their own country. I consider this problem to be one of the most important for our country. That’s why we promised to create five million of jobs in five years” – Yushenko said.
