5-th International Forum of Regional Development in Ukraine |

All those who work and cooperate with the RDA are happy to see that gradually more and more attention is attracted by the problems of regional development in Ukraine. The Fifth international Forum of regional development “Sribna Vezha” will take place in Zhytomir on 16-17 of September. Representatives of our RDA are also expected to be among participants.
Traditionally organizers of the event are: embassy of Poland in Ukraine, Zhytomir regional union of entrepreneurs, Zhytomir regional and municipal authorities.
Among main topics of the previous forums there were issues connected with the activization of the business cooperation between Ukrainian and foreign businessmen, transnational regional cooperation etc.
Throughout 2000-2004 representatives of Poland, Czech republic, Lithuania, Germany, Russia, Romania, Cyprus, Slovakia, Hungary and USA and other countries participated in the Forums.
Taking into consideration the relevance of European integration processes for Ukraine the topic of the upcoming Forum is “Perspectives of regional development in the context of European integration of Ukraine”.
Among topics for discussion the following can be mentioned:
1. Functions and scopes of the Ukrainian integration processes towards Europe
2. European interregional cooperation as a factor of development and stability
3. The role of local self-government, regional mass-media and social organizations
4. Application of the European experience in regional development
5. Administrative territorial reform in Ukraine in the context of regional development – European experience.
6. The role of local and regional authorities in the implementation of stable regional development.
7. Применение европейского опыта в решении проблем регионов Украины.
8. Investment policy as an instrument of intensive regional development.
8. Region as a component of investment attraction of Ukraine
